We are looking for an experienced Estate Planning Lawyer to join our team in Owings Mills, Maryland. In this role, you will work closely with clients to provide tailored legal guidance on estate planning matters, ensuring their assets are protected and their wishes are clearly documented. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with professionals across disciplines while delivering empathetic and expert service to clients.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct consultations with clients to understand their estate planning goals and needs.
  • Draft and customize estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Provide strategic advice on wealth preservation, tax implications, and asset protection.
  • Assist in the administration of trusts and probate estates, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Research and analyze tax-related issues, including the preparation and filing of federal and state estate tax returns.
  • Advise clients on estate and gift tax planning by applying knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans.
  • Guide clients through sensitive and emotional situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations to provide accurate advice.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and related legal matters.
  • Proficiency in drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced directives.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state laws regarding estates, trusts, and taxes.
  • Maryland bar license required; additional bar admissions are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Familiarity with the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations related to estate and gift tax planning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with financial and legal professionals.
