Methods Engineer
The WPB Assembly team is seeking a highly motivated Methods Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing assembly processes and methods to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to identify and resolve process-related issues, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
Essential Functions :
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and methods to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze and optimize production workflows, layouts, and equipment to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability and streamline new product introductions.
- Identify and resolve process-related issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide training and support to production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all manufacturing activities.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional Skills :Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field5 years of direct experience in the Assembly of RL10 / RS25 rocket enginesExperience as a Methods Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes, methods, and best practicesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
