American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) position with Level III / IV NICU experience and availability for every other weekend and winter holiday shifts.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a NICU and Special Care Nursery (SCN) with a 21-bed NICU and 16-bed SCNPatient ratios of 1 : 2 in NICU and 1 : 3-4 in SCNFacility is Level IV NICU, but Level III experience acceptedThree 12-hour day shifts per week (7 : 00-19 : 30)Required to work every other weekend and some winter holidaysWill float to Newborn Nursery (NBN), SCN, Pediatrics, and PICU as appropriateUses Epic EMR for chartingLocals are accepted at the same pay rateWill not be required to attend high risk deliveriesProvide critical care to neonatal and special care nursery patientsMay support with placement and management of oral, nasogastric, or nasojejunal tubesMust be able to provide breastfeeding support and manage neonatal feeding protocolsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyBlock scheduling is not available for this assignmentReturning employees must have been separated from the specified health system for at least one year before eligibilityHoliday and weekend coverage is required as scheduled\n \n Requirements\n
Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of considerationCurrent BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferredMinimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience requiredExperience with EPIC, CPAP, HFNC, ETT, glucose monitoring, insulin administration, breastfeeding support, and feeding tubes requiredPreferred experience with oscillators, Jet ventilators, Criticool, and transportMust be able to perform sepsis work ups, manage central lines (UAC / UVC, A-lines), and administer IV vasopressorsOpen or active background or license issues are not accepted\n Benefits\n
