Assistant Editor-GIE Media (Horticulture Group)
If you're someone who loves digging into a good story, thrives on deadlines, and enjoys collaborating with a smart, driven, and fun-loving crew, we'd love to meet you.
GIE Media, a family-owned B2B media company serving a wide range of industries, is seeking an Assistant Editor to join our Horticulture Group.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, along with at least two years of experience creating content. A background in newspapers or magazines is a big plus, and experience with B2B publishing is even better.
We're looking for someone who's not just a strong writer, but also thoughtful and thorough, someone who double-checks the details, asks the right questions, and takes pride in engaging and accurate work. You should also be willing to experiment and use multiple media formats to tell stories and share industry updates, like podcasts, short-form video, and social media.
This role is rooted in the horticulture industry, so while you don't need to be a master gardener, a genuine interest in plants, gardening, or the green industry is definitely a plus. If you're the type who gets excited about new plant varieties or enjoys spending your weekends in the garden, you'll feel right at home here. We are a team that works hard, supports each other, and knows how to have a good time doing what we love. If that sounds like your kind of workplace, let's talk.
What you'll be doing
No two days are exactly the same, but here's a look at some of what you'll be up to :
We're a small, close-knit team, which means we all pitch in where needed. We're looking for someone with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude who never says, "That's not my job." Flexibility, curiosity, and a team-first mindset will go a long way here.
