About the Role

The Company is seeking an SVP, Internal Audit to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to strategically enhance the internal audit program and will be involved in a hands-on capacity. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial stability and growth of the business, with a focus on valuing and empowering people and delivering a superior customer experience. Key responsibilities include managing a team of audit professionals, overseeing compliance with a wide range of banking regulatory requirements, and reviewing the quality and effectiveness of controls to mitigate risk and protect the company's assets. The SVP will also be responsible for making recommendations, providing strategic advice, and developing and maintaining the internal audit department's purpose, authority, and responsibility.

Applicants for the SVP, Internal Audit position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a CPA being a plus, and must possess significant commercial banking audit experience. A strong working knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and Federal and State regulations is essential. The role requires the ability to develop and maintain an audit plan based on risk assessment, as well as the skill to identify, evaluate, and recommend third-party audit consultants. The SVP will be expected to ensure that the audit plan is implemented effectively, in compliance with professional standards, and that all audit assignments are completed in a timely manner. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with third-party internal auditors, government regulators, and the BSA Officer to escalate any suspicious activity. Continuing education to maintain technical competence and strict adherence to all bank policies and regulatory requirements is also a fundamental aspect of the position.
