The Learning Development Specialist plays a vital role in providing learning experiences and knowledge for American Lumbers workforce. This position contributes to continued growth and organizational effectiveness. In addition to learning development responsibilities, this position will work as a Human Resources Assistant on various Human Resources projects supporting the corporate vision, mission, and strategic objectives. Reports to Human Resources Manager.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience :
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication (written and orally)
- Effective interpersonal skills to identify learning needs and lead discussions with all levels of the organization
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in Education, HR, Organizational Development, or similar experience required.
- Bachelors degree in education, HR, Organizational Development or related field required
- Proficiency in using computers with standard office software for writing learning materials and work on assigned projects in Human Resources
Responsibilities :
Work as a part of the American Lumber team as well as independently as a self-starter with minimal supervisionLead the design and development of curriculum and documentation with collaboration of SMEs and department leaders to ensure learning aligns with organizational goals and functional performance requirementsDevelop and manage a learning strategy and customized learning assets (presentations, handouts, self-study materials, learning experiences, etc.)Evaluate if training objectives are met and propose improvements, as neededIdentify, engage, and manage third-party training vendors to supplement internal training, as neededAssist with and / or manage various Human Resources administrative work such as employee records, policy documentation, onboarding, and assisting with recruitment and daily operations
