Summary :
As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in patient care by performing essential duties such as specimen collection, receiving, and referrals, all while ensuring a high standard of service and compliance.

- Collaborate in procurement of departmental supplies in conjunction with team leadership.
- Perform all phlebotomy tasks, including various specimen collection methods such as venipuncture, capillary collection, urine drug screens, and cultures.
- Ensure specimen integrity through adherence to collection requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff, fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Utilize laboratory computer systems for accurate documentation of specimens and patient information.
- Participate in additional responsibilities including standby / on-call duties, inventory management, and training.
- Conduct and complete performance evaluations and competency assessments on schedule.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.Bilingual English / Spanish is advantageous.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy is preferred.Familiarity with medical terminology and computer entry skills are essential.Experience
One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or State licensure may be required depending on location.As per the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates must obtain the required certifications for their positions within the given timeframe.
Work Schedule : 2 : 30 PM - 11 PM
