Kimley-Horn's Charlotte, North Carolina (NC) office is seeking an Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join their Energy & Natural Gas team!
Our engineers work alongside a full service, multidisciplinary team of professionals, working to deliver comprehensive engineering consulting to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects across energy and natural gas, including large pipeline design, control valve stations, power generation and process controls design. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our growing team and will have the opportunity to engage across markets and geographies.
This is not a remote position. Travel may be required to support design efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design development and calculations on complex designs including :
- Transmission & Distribution Pipeline Design
- Metering and Regulation Stations
- Remote Valve Sites
- Regulatory Compliance
- Natural Gas Generation & power plant design
- Process Control Design and Integration
Qualifications
Produce construction drawings and details associated with multidisciplinary engineering projects.Perform design work and engineering analysesJurisdictional Permitting and Agency CoordinationAssist in managing project progress, budgets, and schedules5+ years of relevant engineering design experienceKnowledge of relevant codes and standards, including eCFR 49 Part 192 and ASME B31.8Professional Engineering ( License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)Candidates should have experience within the Oil and Gas discipline including experience with design, permitting, and applicable software applicationsExperience with task management, concept design, and assisting project management tasksFamiliar with coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standardsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and CADWORXAbility to develop engineering design plan sets and other construction documentsDesign experience that includes site layout, mechanical design, station work and permitting
