At Global Laser Enrichment (GLE), we are advancing the future of nuclear enrichment technology and were seeking a skilledProcurement Engineer to help ensure that critical materials, components, and services are sourced, evaluated, and delivered with precision.

This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise and procurement acumen. Youll collaborate across engineering, project management, and supplier quality teams to secure highly specialized items for both prototyping and production while maintaining compliance with strict industry and regulatory standards.

What Youll Do

  • Partner with engineering and project management to define procurement requirements.
  • Source and qualify suppliers to support complex R&D and prototype manufacturing.
  • Prepare and evaluate RFQs / RFPs, analyze quotations, and support cost-effective contract negotiations.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications to ensure procurement accuracy.
  • Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, NQA-1, ITAR, and other relevant standards.
  • Support planning, inventory management, and supply chain risk mitigation.
  • Troubleshoot supply chain issues and resolve non-conformances.
  • Maintain procurement documentation in ERP / MRP systems and contribute to process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sourcing strategies and supplier innovation.
  • What Youll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
  • 37 years of technical procurement experience in R&D, prototype, or regulated industries.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Experience with supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of regulated industry standards (DOE, NRC, FDA, ASME, NQA-1).
  • Proficiency with ERP / MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an NRC Q-Clearance (or active clearance preferred).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DOE / NRC Q-Clearance or Top Secret clearance.
  • Professional certifications in supply chain or contract management.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry or familiarity with laser / optics systems.
  • Knowledge of export control requirements.
