Zappos is looking for a nimble, curious BIE within the Buying and Planning organization to help design, build and implement BI solutions. This role will own development of long-term automation solutions to improve the Buying and Planning workflow, while also creating short-term tools and reporting to support the evolving needs of the business. The ideal candidate is innovative, data-driven and strives to answer fast-changing business / operational questions with thoughtful analysis. They are comfortable in distilling data from multiple sources to create simplified, concise reporting and visualizations to support leadership decision making, and can manage multiple analyses / projects simultaneously. Key job responsibilities
- Developing concise, insightful reporting on the key drivers of our business
- Enabling efficient decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
- Generating flexible models for KPI definition and tracking to support Zappos strategic initiatives
- Writing high quality SQL codes to retrieve and analyze data
- Communicating complex, data-driven subject matter to key stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the business need and existing challenges
- Development and maintenance of internal tools that support buying and planning workflows
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experienceExperience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar toolsExperience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelinesExperience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and MatlabExperience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingBachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative fieldPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
