ABOUT THE ROLE :

• Looking for someone that can implement a feature and understand system well enough to make those changes.
• Deployment to production or end to end development - working with the business to understand needs and the "why" behind the requests from them.
• Develop and test code prior to putting into production.
• Can find these candidates in smaller IBM shops.
• Need to be able to prioritize and stay on top of deadlines, communicate with peers too
• Looking for developers to support legacy systems but also familiar with what IBM has been doing to modernize the platform.
• Listening to and attending workshops, and knows what is coming down the pipeline and excited about IBM modernization efforts.

Technical Skills :

RPG, DB2, SQL, Agile.

Interview Process : 2-3 rounds

Responsibilities

Designing and implementing complete features independently

Conducting thorough code reviews with constructive feedback

Collaborating with cross-functional teams on requirements

Ensuring code quality through comprehensive testing

Directly communicating with stakeholders on project status

Resolving complex bugs and support requests

Coordinating testing and deployment activities

Managing multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities

Creating technical documentation for team reference

Skills Required

Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks

Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills

Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences

Working knowledge of agile development methodologies

Understanding of business context and application workflows

Ability to estimate work effort and manage priorities

Collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving

Performance Indicators

Delivers complete features independently with high quality

Contributes meaningfully to technical discussions and planning

Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Proactively identifies and resolves issues before they impact deadlines

Maintains high standards for code quality and test coverage

Demonstrates ownership of assigned features and components

Evidence Examples

End-to-end feature implementation with appropriate tests

Technical specifications that effectively guided development

Improved components through refactoring with measurable results

Contributions to technical documentation used by the team

Resolved complex bugs with thorough root cause analysis

Mentorship of junior developers with positive feedback

Pay Details : $50.00 to $55.00 per hour
