About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to spearhead its enterprise revenue and narrative strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving both institutional and individual fundraising, stewarding the brand, and leading strategic communications. This role is pivotal in partnering with programs to develop market strategies for philanthropic services. The ideal CAO will be a strategic and hands-on leader, capable of owning a multi-year revenue plan, building and maintaining a qualified pipeline, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of proposals and reports. They will also be tasked with leading a phased restructuring and hiring plan for the advancement function, clarifying cross-organizational interfaces, and instituting collaborative and operating rhythms.
Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in institutional fundraising with integrated strategic communications, a proven track record in revenue delivery, and experience in team and system leadership, particularly in a dynamic or rebuilding context. The role requires a candidate with strong CRM / grants operations and data discipline, excellent executive communication, and narrative skills. Values alignment with movement ecosystems and the ability to navigate risk and brand protection for intermediaries are essential. The CAO will be expected to manage and coach a team, design the future organizational structure, and lead cross-departmental collaborations related to fundraising and communications.
