Job Summary :
The Senior Director of Strategic Financial Planning leads the enterprise-wide strategic financial planning function and ensures the delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable business analysis supporting organizational decision-making. This role partners closely with executive leadership to set financial strategy, align goals across the system, identify opportunities for growth and efficiencies, and mitigate risk. The Senior Director oversees annual operating and capital budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and the ongoing development of financial and operational metrics across Care New England.
The position directs the financial planning and decision support function, ensuring meaningful analytics, appropriate financial targets, and comprehensive reporting. This includes managing systemwide budget preparation, performance management processes, and the continual enhancement of decision support tools, including Kaufman Hall Enterprise Performance Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead enterprise-wide strategic financial planning initiatives.
Direct creation of business plans and long- and short-term financial strategies.
Prepare updates and revisions to strategic financial plan in collaboration with CFO and OU Finance leadership.
Provide recommendations to executive leadership on financial and operational improvement opportunities.
Coordinate strategic financial planning across functional organizations to ensure alignment of capital, resources, and technology.
Manage the annual operating and capital budget processes for all CNE operating units.
Ensure financial targets align with organizational objectives.
Direct financial planning, forecasting, modeling, statements, and reporting.
Oversee development and improvement of decision support systems to ensure accurate cost and payment data.
Support productivity reporting and Position Review Committee needs; participate as needed.
Maintain and monitor key financial metrics.
Prepare monthly dashboards for the CNE Finance Committee and Board.
Evaluate new business opportunities and financial viability.
Partner with OU Managers of Finance to optimize Kaufman Hall utilization.
Provide financial and business development support to Integra ACO.
Work collaboratively with Quality and Performance Improvement teams to track financial impact of improvement activities.
Establish standards for professionalism, innovation, communication, and departmental management.
Conduct educational presentations for managers, physicians, senior management, and board members.
Provide training and development support for department employees.
Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred
In Finance, Accounting or related field
8-10 years’ experience in healthcare finance management.
Experience in strategic financial planning, enterprise performance management, and team leadership.
Proven leadership, executive judgment, strategic and analytical thinking.
Experience managing annual budgets and financial planning / decision support functions.
Kaufman Hall Enterprise Performance Management experience preferred.
