Description

The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is looking for a self-motivated, energetic person, who possesses the skillsand desires to care for Kentucky's Veterans. The expectations for a Patient Aide I (Interaction Guide)including but not limited to : Good communications skills, Good Work Ethics, Critical Thinking and Problemsolving, Creativity, Engaging residents with activities, assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet thephysical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.

The ideal candidate will work within a team-centeredenvironment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering Independence, preservingDignity, and providing Compassionate Care.

Working Conditions

Normal working conditions within a health care facility. These facilities may include persons with abnormal behaviors and / or contagious diseases. Frequent exposures to blood and body fluids inherent in an institutional setting which requires the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 9 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
