Job Title : Cheerleading Coach
POSITION SUMMARY :
The AMA YMCA is seeking a high-energy and positive Cheer Coach to lead 6-week recreational cheerleading classes for youth ages 5 to 10! This fun and dynamic program introduces participants to the fundamentals of cheer, including motions, chants, jumps, basic stunts, and teamwork in a safe and encouraging environment.
We're looking for an instructor who can combine structure and spirit-building coordination, confidence, and group camaraderie while keeping things fun and age-appropriate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Lead structured 6-week cheerleading classes for children ages 5 to 10.
- Teach basic cheer skills including motions, jumps, chants, dance elements, and formations.
- Emphasize teamwork, safety, and positive group interaction.
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that build confidence and coordination.
- Adapt instruction to fit a range of experience levels and learning styles.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding class expectations, safety, and progress.
- Promote YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized activity space.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support youth enrichment programming.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum age of 18.Prior experience in cheerleading (coaching, performing, or instructing) required.Experience working with youth ages 5 to 10 preferred.Ability to create engaging, structured lesson plans that support progression.Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.Patient, energetic, and enthusiastic about youth development.Available to work evenings and / or weekends.Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Must be able to lead cheer activities and demonstrate movements throughout class.Comfortable working with young children in an active, high-energy setting.Some light setup or equipment movement may be required.Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.SALARY & BENEFITS :
