Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,070 per week in Phoenix, AZ

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : Level I Trauma experience required. Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance. Telemetry unit experience preferred. Description : Candidates will be prescreened and, if recommended by clinical staff, will be sent for approval. Candidates are required to pass an assessment exam prior to accepting an offer. This unit is a telemetry unit that provides care for inpatients with potential behavioral health components requiring safety monitoring. It is important to note that this is not a psychiatric unit. All registered nurses are expected to complete skill assessments for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. The assessments are mandatory for travelers who will be working on the main campus and / or a designated campus. Candidates should have a strong understanding of maintaining a sterile field. Nurses who lack competency in sterile field techniques may not be suitable for this position. In addition to the skill assessments, there will also be education on lifts, restraints, and wound care. Psychiatric experience is preferred but not required. Candidates should possess strong MedSurg / Telemetry skills and a willingness to work with individuals with mental health conditions. Patient ratios on this unit are 1 : 4. Electronic medical records are maintained using a designated system. Weekend work is required every third weekend, and holiday shifts will follow the permanent staff rotation. Scrub color for staff is navy, with panic buttons available on the unit. The unit is video monitored for security, and there is a policy of rare physical restraints. Chemical restraints may be used when necessary. The average length of stay for patients is four days. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts within a 13-week assignment. Charting is completed through the designated electronic records system.
