We are looking for an experienced and motivated Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts and implement innovative strategies that enhance revenue and foster long-term partnerships for our client's organization. The position focuses on identifying and securing new donors, developing annual fundraising strategies to meet revenue targets, and leveraging donor data to optimize portfolio management. Ideal candidate brings proficiency in Google Workspace and Salesforce, and familiarity with tracking donor activity and campaign progress, and ensuring best practices in fundraising and donor retention.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage a portfolio of mid-level and major donors, ensuring personalized cultivation and stewardship to deepen engagement.
  • Identify and secure new donors while strengthening relationships with existing supporters to expand financial contributions.
  • Develop and execute annual fundraising strategies to achieve specific revenue targets and align with organizational goals.
  • Analyze donor data to optimize portfolio assignments and track progress toward fundraising objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Development Team to strategize and encourage increased donor giving.
  • Partner with departments such as Marketing, Events, Data Management, and Finance to support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement.
  • Research and identify opportunities for grants, working closely with the Grants Manager to secure funding.
  • Support event planning by recruiting sponsors and managing relationships with event committees.
  • Stay informed on fundraising trends and apply best practices to enhance donor retention and acquisition.
  • Regularly use Google Workspace and Salesforce to manage donor information and track campaign progress.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in development, marketing, or a client-facing role, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and donor management systems to effectively track and manage donor relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence and adaptability.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a collaborative approach.
  • Self-motivated and capable of meeting deadlines independently or as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated judgment and understanding of confidentiality in donor and organizational matters.

Compensation & Benefits :

  • The targeted salary range for this position is $60-90K
  • 18 days PTO, 7 paid holidays, 1 floating holiday
