Position Summary :
The Medical Office LPN is responsible for providing both direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients according to established standards and practices. You will assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care and function as the primary liaison between providers and patients.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.Current licensure in the state of Connecticut.Maintains clinical competency required for area of assignment, including Basic Cardiac Life Support.Experience :
Preferred experience with computer scheduling systems, e.g., Meditech and Ntierprise.1 year experience in a medical facility.Competencies :
Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.Basic computer skills.Comfortable in a fast-paced and confidential medical environment.Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to ensure a safe work environment.Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and patient care evaluation.Physical ability to perform office duties, including the ability to lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive hand movements.Reliable transportation and ability to float to other offices as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide general nursing care to patients, including administering prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments according to established nursing standards.Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient treatment, examination, and testing.Observe, report, and record patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.Educate patients and their families about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.Document sample medications dispensed in patient records.Maintain inventory of medical supplies and report needs to the Office Coordinator.Report malfunctioning medical equipment to the Office Coordinator.Assist physicians with office surgical procedures.Prepare specimens and supporting paperwork for laboratory testing as directed.Handle incoming patient treatment-related calls and provide necessary instructions.Oversee vaccine programs following State guidelines.Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.Keep the work area organized and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations.Participate in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations.Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.Perform other duties as required by Management.
