Base Salary Range : $80,000 - $90,000

This range reflects pay across most U.S. geographic locations.)

ABOUT THE ROLE :

The Surface Textile Designer develops documentation in support of customer specific pattern design for upholstery fabric, drapery, carpet and feature art, etc. This also includes production print artwork including; 2D graphic elevations, pattern orientation and production tooling. The position prioritizes project results that are on time, meet or exceed our client's expectations, and demonstrate attention to detail and quality.

Travel Expectations

Occasional travel to support client and / or vendor projects or meetings. Must be able to travel between Teague studios.

WHAT YOU'LL DO : OWNING

  • Support senior designers in color calibration, digital file prep, and sample management.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment of textile designs with brand and technical requirements.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the organization and with the client to foster understanding and improve communications.
  • Contribute to a culture of inclusivity and creativity.

  • Conduct research to support concept development, pattern design, and color direction.
  • Participate in team brainstorms and design critiques.
  • Learn and apply basic principles of color theory, material application, and surface design.
  • Develop innovative solutions to challenges as they arise.

    • DOING

  • Collaborate with design teams to create textile patterns, color stories, and material explorations for client and internal projects.
  • Assist in developing production artwork, including 2D graphic elevations, pattern orientation, and production tooling.
  • Utilizing color samples provided by the client, electronically adjust color for digital artwork to be approved by the internal team.
  • Maintain digital and physical libraries of materials, prints, and color standards.

    • WHAT YOU BRING :

  • A degree in a creative field-or equivalent experience that shows you know your stuff.
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic or textile design, ideally in a studio or production environment.
  • Confident communicator-written, verbal, visual-you know how to get your ideas across.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team.
  • A sharp eye for color, layout, and pattern-with a solid grasp of how designs live in 3D space.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with textile and carpet construction, plus knowledge of digital and screen-printing techniques.
  • Naturally organized with excellent time management, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable shifting gears when priorities or timelines change-have grace under pressure.
  • Known for reliability, accountability, and a resourceful, get-it-done attitude.
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills-you build rapport and trust easily.
  • Understanding of project workflows and how your work fits into the bigger picture.

    • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols with or without accommodation.
  • Requires attendance in the workplace 2-4 days per week.
  • Frequently required to travel to other Teague facilities in the greater Seattle area.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear with or without accommodation.
  • Occasionally required to reach and grab objects with or without accommodation.
  • Occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds with or without accommodation.
