Project Engineer - Food Manufacturing
Location : Provo, UT (Relocation assistance available)
Compensation : $125K - $175K base + bonus (based on experience and education)

Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Engineering in executing capital projects including equipment installation, plant expansions, and infrastructure upgradesCreate and update detailed CAD layouts, engineering schematics, and equipment documentationParticipate in the planning and execution of new packaging lines, automation systems, and facility modificationsCoordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams during project implementation and installationDraft, manage, and track project timelines, task lists, and technical documentation for engineering initiativesAnalyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for technical improvementSupport installation, commissioning, and validation of new or modified equipment and systemsEnsure compliance with GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and all food safety and quality standardsServe as a key engineering documentation lead-managing as-built drawings, equipment manuals, and change control recordsParticipate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for technical issues in packaging, processing, or plant utilitiesCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and QA teams to ensure smooth handoffs and sustainable improvementsAssist in vendor selection, bid evaluations, and equipment specification reviewsSupport future facility expansions by contributing to design, planning, and on-site build phasesRequirements
BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or closely related field) is required6-10+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment is required, prefer experience with snacks, beverage, candy, or other high-speed packaging productsStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with process flow design and layout developmentExperience supporting capital projects, especially packaging lines, automation, utilities, and facility upgradesWorking knowledge of GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and food safety requirementsFamiliarity with project management tools and documentation practicesDetail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently under the direction of engineering leadershipThis is a high-impact, technical role with room for long-term growth.
