Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Enrollment Management and Instructional Support, serve as the Instructional Services Advisor for the School of Biological Sciences. This role will be responsible for the support of students with documented accommodation needs. This includes program development, policy research, and coordination with campus entities such as the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), the Triton Testing Center (TTC), and the Registrar's Office. The incumbent will serve as a vital link between students, faculty, and administrative bodies, ensuring compliance with relevant accommodation policies. This position will provide comprehensive instructional support. This includes responses via the Virtual Advising Center (VAC), overseeing enrollment processes, utilizing ISIS, ISA, and other scheduling tools, and generating reports and data tracking.
Provides support for the planning, development, and execution of activities related to the schedule of classes within the School of Biological Sciences. Key responsibilities include managing pre- and post-enrollment activities, such as schedule adjustments, communications, and coordination of supplementary instructional events, with reporting responsibilities. Independently obtains classroom spaces, requiring a nuanced understanding of both campus scheduling constraints and school-specific instructional needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Assists with special projects or events for SIS units as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner. Advanced skill at creating technical documentation for complex processes and applications. Ability to generate documentation in clear manner for a wide variety of skill and knowledge levels.
Understanding of University rules and regulations. Knowledge of University policies related to all aspects of student services including, but not limited to, confidentiality, advising students, and services available to students through campus departments and agencies. Strong understanding of UCSD OSD regulations and procedures for providing accommodation to registered OSD students.
Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively utilize resources and networks for learning, problem solving and effective liaison and referral.
Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and pertinent databases. High proficiency in working in electronic environment using applications, web browsers, and other database management systems. Must have the ability and willingness to increase and update knowledge and skills as needed to meet the direction of the School.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
