Position Description

This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology curriculum and coordination of student clinical experiences.

Responsibilities and Duties (

  • Essential Functions)

  • Teaches clinical and / or didactic courses in accordance with published course descriptions and as listed in the schedule of courses.
  • Selects learning experiences that facilitate attainment of course student learning outcomes (SLO).
  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner. Performs course documentation duties for those courses assigned.
  • Grades and returns student work in a timely manner. Provides regular feedback to students regarding academic progress.
  • Organizes and maintains laboratory and clinical areas, including physical facilities, equipment, and materials in a clean, neat, operating condition, when applicable.
  • Maintains regular office hours.
  • Serves as liaison for the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Program Director and faculty with affiliating clinical agencies; maintaining ongoing communications with each affiliating agency to discuss, arrange, and improve clinical rotations / experiences.
  • Coordinates clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director.
  • Conducts weekly clinical site visits to evaluate students; evaluates and ensures the effectiveness of the clinical affiliate / clinical education centers. Communicates clinical needs to Program Director.
  • Schedules students for clinical rotations with affiliating clinical agencies and evaluates students during these rotations to ensure effective learning experiences.
  • Attends the clinical agency planning meetings and participates in maintaining current clinical affiliation agreements and development of new clinical affiliation agreements to meet the needs of the program.
  • Participates in overall program evaluation to maintain compliance with the standards and guidelines established by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology and to assess effectiveness of the program.

    Collaborates with the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Program Director to adequately budget for equipment, supplies, and professional development needs for the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program.

    Collaborates with the program director in periodic review and revision of didactic / clinical course materials, including textbooks, teaching aids, and library holdings.

    Maintains current knowledge of the EDT discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.

    Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.

    Actively participates in faculty committees and departmental meetings, including serving on the advisory board for the program.

    Assists with tracking of completion or reentry of students for the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program.

    Participates in orientation of students entering the EDT program.

    Participates in graduation exercises and completion ceremonies.

    Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

    Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Ability to work independently on a wide variety of professional tasks

    Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping a diverse population of students reach their maximum potential

    Exhibits strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to deal effectively with various college staff, faculty, students, and members of the community

    Proficient in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation and advising.

    Requirements : Associate degree

    Active Registered Electroencephalographic (R. EEG T) or Evoked Potential Technologist (R. EP T) credential

    Two years full-time professional experience as an EEG or EP Technologist

    Current BLS certification

    Preferences : Bachelor’s degree

    Additional credentials within the neurodiagnostic profession (e.g., CLTM, CNIM, R. NCS, RPSGT, DABNM)

    Five years full-time professional experience in the NDT profession

    Two years professional experience in precepting, educating or supervising
