Liability Claims Examiner

Job Description

• Receive, investigate, and process automobile liability and property / casualty claims.
• Review policy provisions to determine coverage applicability.
• Gather and analyze supporting documentation, including police reports, medical records, witness statements, and property appraisals.
• Assign and oversee outside adjusters, appraisers, and legal professionals as needed.
• Select defense counsel and coordinate litigation strategies to protect insured interests.
• Negotiate settlements within granted authority and prepare recommendations for claims exceeding settlement limits.
• Authorize settlement payments and direct issuance of claim-related expenses and liability releases.
• Maintain timely communication with leadership regarding case status, strategies, and consumer complaints.
• Establish, monitor, and adjust loss reserves for pending claims.
• Stay current on industry developments, regulatory changes, and legal updates through continued education.
