Responsibilities Position is in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital Typical patient ratio is 1 : 2 Patient population includes respiratory distress / failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme / onc, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempt cases Specialized procedures performed include CRRT, ECMO, and vent management, with inotropic drips Shifts rotate, but do not alternate within each 4-week schedule; candidates must be flexible to work both days and nights during the contract Weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shift and 4 to 5 for night shift Float required to NICU; may be asked to assist as a resource in the Peds ED No on-call required Cerner is used for charting; experience preferred Assignment options typically include 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts Duties include managing critically ill pediatric patients and supporting high-acuity cases Will float to NICU and may act as a resource in the Peds ED without full patient assignments Black scrubs are required; scrubs are not provided First-time travelers are accepted for this position Holiday coverage required based on schedule; only one holiday bundle off is preferred Assignments longer than 7 consecutive days off may require additional approval Perm staff eligible to return as travelers after 12 months away from the system Free parking is available Compliance and onboarding must be completed prior to start; drug screen required within 30 days of start date Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of consideration) Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum of 1.5 years of recent PICU RN experience Experience with CRRT, ECMO, vents, and inotropic drips required COVID-19 vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with provider documentation Applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Non-local Driver’s License or written transportation plan is required Personal transportation required No RQI certifications accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629807.
