CEI Inspector
GAI Consultants is seeking an Inspector (CEI) based out of our Jacksonville, FL office but assigned to the Tallahassee, FL or Panama City, FL area. Under the direction of the Senior Project Engineer / Construction Manager, the inspector's duties are primarily overseeing the contractor's work to assure compliance with plans and specifications. For this opportunity, good public relations and communication skills are a must, as the ability to collaborate with others.
We are growing! This position is in anticipation of more growth and is an evergreen position. As such, the timeline to hire is unknown and will be as needed. Job Duties :
- Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
- Coordinating with and taking instructions from other senior inspection staff.
- Interpreting plans and specs.
- Monitoring contractor's work for compliance with contract documents.
- Construction documentation including written reports and taking photos of onsite operations.
- Tracking site quantities including construction math computation.
- Permit compliance verification.
- Materials verification including taking field samples at required frequencies.

CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level ICTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level ICTQP Pile Driving Inspection (preferred)CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures) (preferred)IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level ICTQP Final Estimates Level IFDOT Intermediate MOTNuclear Radiation SafetyFlorida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and ContractorsPhysical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.Ability to work in rough terrain found on construction sites.Must be capable of walking in steep varying terrain in all climate conditions.Must be able to drive.Experience Required :
Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and / or roadway construction inspection.Why GAI :
