This Level 4 Trauma facility offers a manageable patient volume, consistent weekend scheduling, and an ideal rural medicine experience with no onsite backup but strong transfer protocols in place.

Opportunity Details :

• Location : Hereford, TX
• Contract Type : Locum Tenens – Emergency Medicine Physician
• Facility Type : 13-Bed Emergency Department – Level 4 Trauma Certified
• Start Date : ASAP – Ongoing
• Coverage Type : Saturday & Sunday shifts + PRN
• EMR System : Cerner Community Works
• Boards Accepted : ABEM, AOBEM, FM / IM with strong ED experience

Position Overview :

13 ER Beds with full weekend coverage needs

Patient Volume : ~600–700 / month (~20 patients per 24 hours)

Trauma Mix : 5% Trauma, 50% Pediatrics, 35% Geriatrics

Support Services : 24 / 7 Lab & X-Ray

Transfer / Admit Protocols in place

OB Protocol active

No onsite backup – independent provider autonomy

Level 4 Trauma Certified Facility

Schedule & Shift Info :

Weekend coverage : Saturday & Sunday

PRN availability as needed

24-hour shift format preferred

Consistent block scheduling available for committed providers

Candidate Requirements :

Active Texas Medical License & Unrestricted DEA

ATLS, ACLS, PALS required (NRP recommended)

ABEM / AOBEM preferred; FM / IM with strong ED background accepted

3rd Year Emergency Medicine Residents welcome
