As a CAD Technician at BPG, you can expect to work on a variety of exciting projects daily. Your tasks may include creating detailed drawings, collaborating with engineers and architects, and ensuring accuracy and precision in your designs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your software proficiency and problem-solving skills to contribute to the success of our projects. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 7am to 4pm (Arizona Time), allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while honing your CAD expertise in a supportive and collaborative hybrid work environment.

Technical Skills Required

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (Map 3D preferred) for telecom or utility design
  • Ability to read and interpret base maps , plats , utility records , and field sketches
  • Familiarity with OSP / ISP standards (BSW, UG, aerial, conduit systems)
  • Experience drafting Plan & Profile views , As-Builts , and Fiber Routing
  • Capable of using standard templates and layer conventions for telecom builds
  • Intermediate knowledge of GIS platforms , shapefiles , and coordinate systems

Design Responsibilities

  • Draft buried and aerial fiber route designs from field notes, KMZ, or survey data
  • Accurately place utilities , ROW , easements , property lines , and tie points
  • Offset civil features (curbs, gutters, sidewalks, fences) as needed
  • Label and annotate drawings per company and client standards
  • Apply jurisdictional permitting requirements and standard engineering details
  • Incorporate supporting plats and coordinate with permitting guidelines
  • Project Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with fiber design projects between 700–2000 feet in length
  • Proven ability to take a project from concept to 100% completion with minimal oversight
  • Performs quality control, redline correction, and self-checks effectively
  • Able to manage scope changes across multiple phases of a project
