ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's I-64 Team is looking for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Traffic Operations and Planning group in either the Virginia Beach or Richmond office. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation engineers & planners on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including private sector development, municipal, state agencies, higher education and federal agencies such as the national parks service.

Responsibilities

Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects

• Traffic impact studies
• Roadway and intersection design
• Traffic Signal Design
• Safety studies
• Transportation planning analyses
• Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographics
• Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
• Traffic data collection and tabulation
• Intersection and roadway level of service analyses
