Senior Manager Information Systems & Cyber Security
Adapt Forward is seeking a hands-on leader who thrives on both building and mentoring. As our Senior Manager of Information Systems and Cyber Security, you will architect, secure, and continuously improve a Microsoft centric enterprise environment while coaching a high performing team. You will be equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves in the Microsoft 365 admin center and briefing executives on compliance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Operations & Microsoft Platform
- Own end to end administration of Microsoft 365 (Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
- Design and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks using Zero Trust principles
- Automate routine tasks through PowerShell, Graph API, and Intune configuration profiles
- Manage asset lifecycle and SaaS licensing for a growing, distributed workforce
Security Architecture & Hardening
Implement secure configuration baselines for Windows, macOS, mobile, and cloud workloadsDeploy and tune the Microsoft Defender suite (Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps, Intune MTD)Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability management, and purple team style validation to drive continuous improvementMaintain SIEM / SOAR detections and integrate log sources into Microsoft SentinelCompliance & Audit Readiness
Lead readiness and evidence collection for ISO 27001, NIST 800171, and CMMC Level 2 assessmentsMap security controls to customer and regulatory requirements, develop POA&Ms, and track remediationAuthor and maintain policies, standards, and procedures aligned with NIST CSF and CIS benchmarksCoordinate third party penetration tests and manage incident response exercisesLeadership & Talent Development
Coach a small team of Systems and Security Engineers, setting clear OKRs and providing technical guidanceFoster a culture of learning, experimentation, and documentationPartner with Program, HR, and Finance leaders to align technology strategy with business objectivesOwn departmental budgeting, vendor management, and roadmap executionRequired Qualifications
US CitizenBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field and 8+ years of progressive IT experience5+ years administering Microsoft 365 and Azure AD at scale, including conditional access and MFAPreferred Qualifications
Master's degree or relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Microsoft Certified : Cybersecurity Architect Expert, or CMMC ProExperience supporting Department of Defense or Federal customers under DFARS and FedRAMP requirementsDemonstrated mastery of Microsoft Defender solutions and security hardening best practicesProven leadership of at least two successful external compliance audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or CMMC)Expert level PowerShell and experience with Infrastructure as Code or deployment pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps)Familiarity with container security, secure software supply chainExperience managing outsourced MSP / MSSP partnersCertifications
