Council for the Homeless brings people, organizations, and resources together to serve our diverse community. Through leadership, collaboration, and advocacy, we work to ensure everyone has the chance to find home, safety, dignity, and belonging.

This position performs high level administrative coordination for the CEO as well as operational support to the senior leadership team. This role is a trusted partner to the CEO that is responsible in ensuring organizational priorities move forward efficiently. The Executive Administrator manages scheduling, communication, special projects, and board support while upholding confidentiality, accountability, and alignment with Council for the Homeless' mission.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Performing a full range of administrative functions including coordinating and organizing projects, transmitting directives, and explaining executive decisions.
  • Drafting, editing, and preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Provide notary support for the agency.
  • Provides administrative support to the Board of Directors.
  • Act as a liaison between CEO and internal / external contributors, handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Maintain effective and orderly paper and digital systems for documents, contracts, grants, licenses, and an array of business and departmental documentation.
  • Maintain, organize, and implement office systems and procedures.
  • Maintain complex and highly confidential files and information written and verbal.
  • Assist with the internal and external communication to advance the organization's goals.
  • Research, compile, and analyze data to support decision-making.
  • Manage and track key projects and deadlines to support cross-departmental efforts.

  • Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with colleagues, board members, partners, and public.

  • Pay and Benefits

  • Starting salary for this position is $32.62 / hour. In compliance with the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, the full salary range for this position is $32.62- $42.41 per hour.
  • Bi-lingual pay differential.
  • Full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
  • Health insurance is 100% paid for employee only coverage.
  • 12 paid holidays, separate accrued vacation and sick leave.
  • Environment

    Office setting. This is not a hybrid position . Interacting with people experiencing homelessness and / or houselessness.

    Requirements

    Required Experience

  • Administrative education / training degree or certification or equivalent work experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical knowledge and use of community agreements and accountability to create a more equitable and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task including phone calls, emails, paperwork, and reports.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to de-escalate using crisis intervention.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Lived experience.
  • Writes, signs and / or speak other languages other than English.
  • Identifies as a member of an underserved population.
  • Experience working or volunteering at a non-profit organization.
