Job Description

House & Robertson Architects is looking for a recent graduate with a professional degree in architecture and at least 5 years’ experience in licensure to join our San Francisco, CA Office. Project Architects are responsible for ensuring the delivery of a project through production and construction phases while managing Intermediate and Junior Architectural staff to confirm the design program, scope of work, and delivery requirements. Project Architects shall train their staff to demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction, building materials, and construction detailing while conducting the implementation and documentation of the project. Project Architects will also demonstrate professional knowledge in designing to meet the governmental regulations, zoning and building codes, and current building industries standards. The ideal candidate will carry and eagerness to learn and a keen resolve to stay current with professional and technical developments. Additional key responsibilities are sharing professional knowledge, quality assurance, motivating others, and establishing successful project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with project and firm leadership regarding the project.
  • Manage and provide clear direction, support, and supervision of support staff
  • Prioritize the development of staff by creating learning opportunities within project work.
  • Determine and apply applicable governmental regulations and codes
  • Establish project deliverables
  • Prepare cartoon set of drawing sets and populate material outline
  • Build Revit Models during the design phase
  • Review and uphold project schedule with team
  • Set up project management software
  • Compose architectural construction documents in Revit
  • Coordinate the preparation of construction documents with team members
  • Provide direction on Construction Administration activities including RFI’s, Shop Drawing and submittal review, clarifications, Change Orders, and site field observation reports
  • Review office standards and expectations with team members
  • Assist the project manager in review of project billing, updating code review, and coordinating Owner Project Requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture
  • 5 years of professional experience in licensure.
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A strong desire to excel and advanced in a fast paced, challenging, client focused environment.
