Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to lead cross-border dispute resolution and litigation strategy across CATL's U.S. operations. This role focuses on international arbitration and U.S. litigation, particularly in high-stakes matters involving intellectual property, commercial contracts, trade compliance, and the energy storage value chain. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the legal posture of one of the most dynamic players in the global energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead international arbitration and litigation strategy in coordination with global legal teams, with a particular emphasis on disputes involving advanced battery technology, manufacturing agreements, and international supply chains.
• Directly manage and direct outside counsel on U.S. proceedings, including commercial litigation, IP enforcement / defense, and regulatory disputes.
• Serve as a legal liaison between CATL's U.S. operations and China-based legal teams, facilitating efficient, culturally fluent collaboration across time zones and jurisdictions.
• Drive the development and implementation of internal dispute resolution processes and risk mitigation strategies.
• Advise internal stakeholders on U.S. procedural issues (e.g., discovery, privilege, interim relief), with sensitivity to cross-border implications.
• Support China-based arbitrations and litigations that involve U.S. ancillary proceedings, including enforcement of arbitral awards or court judgments, obtaining discovery under 28 U.S.C. § 1782, and seeking provisional remedies in U.S. courts.
• Proactively identify and analyze litigation trends, exposure areas, and potential claims or defenses.
