Program Manager Sheltering ARCHES

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Program Manager for the ARCHES Sheltering Department will be responsible for administering programing aimed at providing a safe warm place with vital services for the areas homeless population. The person in this position will provide direct supervision of program staff oversee project operations and develop program policies for 24 / 7 shelters. This position will monitor multiple grants allocated by ARCHES Project to community partners. This position requires the ability to work days nights weekends and / or holidays as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and / or abilities required.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

• Two or more years of social services experience and a minimum of 1 year of managing or coordinating in a social service field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted.
• A preference will be given to those with shelter experience and experience managing / coordinating programs working with vulnerable or at-risk populations including people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises approximately 20-30 employees over multiple shifts. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
