Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in‑office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About this Role

As a Senior Director of Product Design for our Core Product UX, you will lead one of Udemy’s most strategically important design domains—defining the experience for millions of users worldwide. Reporting to the VP of Design & Research, you will shape the end‑to‑end experiences across web and mobile platforms, ensuring Udemy continues to set the standard for intuitive, elegant, and effective upskilling experiences. You will work cross‑functionally with your peers in Product and Engineering to build high‑performing, coherent and beautiful product experiences.

What you’ll be doing

• Set the vision for the core product UX at Udemy, ensuring our platform is not only functional but inspiring, competitive, and visually iconic.
• Elevate design across multiple global teams (US and Europe), acting as a player‑coach who guides by example while mentoring senior talent.
• Influence at the highest levels, presenting confidently to C‑level stakeholders and driving alignment between design, product, and business strategy.
• Lead innovation in AI‑powered UX, prototyping the future of personalized learning, content creation, and global classroom experiences.
• Build culture, creating an environment where designers do the best work of their careers—grounded in collaboration, inclusion, and shared purpose.
• Scale impact, operationalizing design processes and systems that enable consistent, high‑quality outcomes across products, regions, and modalities.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job‑related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for equity.

Hiring Compensation Range : $272,000 - $340,000 USD
