Property Monitor
Schedule / Hours : Sunday through Wednesday, 4 : 00pm to 11 : 30pm
This position is responsible for :
- Monitoring the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guarding the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
- Monitoring client's behavior and activities to ensure compliance with program / facility rules guidelines; directing clients in appropriate behavior in order to stay in the program / facility.
- Providing security for the building and grounds being aware of activities happening in building dormitories; maintaining awareness of activities occurring outside of the building / ensuring that vehicles are not in fire lanes; ensuring property and vehicles are not vandalized.
- Conducting random and routine bed checks to ensure compliance with house rules.
- Inspecting baggage for contraband or inappropriate items which jeopardize the security and safety of clients and staff; may operate a metal detector.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensuring that the kitchen staff locks rear door and that the walk-in cooler door is closed and lights are off.Ensuring that any fire hazards or unsafe conditions are reported.Making visual contact with residents on a regular scheduled basis; recording violations of program regulation and completing required reports; notifying the Program Director in a timely manner.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to meet attendance requirements.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with waking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).Work is performed in a normal social service housing environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.Employee Benefits :
Employee Pension PlanPersonal Paid Time OffEducation and Experience : High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, and six months experience working with the public with experience work in a security or social service environment preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications : First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
