Job Summary :

Provides senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise’s overall systems architecture. Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise. This is a FT hybrid role based in Portland, Oregon.

Pay Range

110,000- $160,000 annually (depending on experience).

  • Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

  • Primary Functions :

  • Responsible for analyzing user / business requirements and applying best-practice standards, methodologies, models, and technologies in developing and executing recommendations on system architecture and software application design, development, testing, implementation, and improvements / refinements.
  • Reviews, advises, and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs. benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
  • Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
  • Assists in the development of and manages an architecture governance process.
  • Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate.
  • Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise’s architecture needs.
  • Defines systems architecture and design for the enterprise in an expert or lead technical role.
  • Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert.
  • Works on projects / issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
  • Coaches and mentors the junior technical staff.
  • Participates in all phases of technical solution projects.
  • Monitors and evaluates system and software performance and security.
  • Creates analysis and architectural documents.
  • Performs process and risk analysis.
  • Develops plans and schedules for technical solutions.
  • Automates processes as required using one or more programming languages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Required Skills & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience specializing in Computer Science or related field.
  • 12 years of IT work experience in heterogeneous infrastructure / systems environments performing systems planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software) and optimization. This experience must be in UNIX and Windows Client Server environments and show experience in supporting a switched and routed network environment.
  • Experience developing infrastructure and platforms for enterprise usage.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (e.g. ability to produce cohesive written documents and explain concepts verbally)
  • Coaching and selling skills to guide the forward movement of the organization
  • Strategic planning skills (e.g. short and long-term Infrastructure architectural strategy)
  • Ability to build relationships with business and technology stakeholders (infrastructure, middleware, networking, security, data engineering and application development)
  • Experience in transforming Infrastructure architecture to actionable plan that is understood by project teams and business
  • Proven experience in large scale, analysis, design, development, and Infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience with technology and tools for managing platforms (e.g. virtualization, containers, zones, monitoring, grid computing)
  • Solid understanding and experience in virtualization technologies for Windows and Unix platforms
  • Ability to assess program and project Infrastructure architectures for non-compliance and define corrective actions
  • Ability to come into work on time and daily.
  • Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image.
  • Contact with Others & Working Conditions :

  • Inside the company with all departments including Senior Executives. Outside the company with vendors.
  • On-call status and extensive CRT work. Ability to lift 20 lbs. Work in excess of 40 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business need.
