This position is located in Worcester, MA

General Statement of Duties : Provide necessary supports to Members of the Community Center around career exploration and engagement .

Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate career interest inventories , skill assessments , and job assessments with members
  • Facilitate career exploration activities for members including : guest speakers, tours, job shadows, benefits counseling , and career counseling .
  • Through the Advancement Unit sessions as well as 1 : 1 counseling provide education / training in how to find, acquire and maintain employment. Including

job application / interviewing , ADA rights , accommodations , life / work management , work relationships , building natural supports , coping strategies, etc…

  • Assess and enhance current curriculum, develop new curriculum focused on developing vocational skills and career preparation.
  • As needed, provide education to employers related to acquired brain injury , provide education to Members around work incentives and benefits, ADA rights , accommodations , and other related topics.
  • Identify individual as well as group volunteer opportunities for Members.
  • Assist Members in maintaining skills required to successfully maintain theory employment and maintaining the employers quality standards.
  • Complete any required data collection, assessments , monthly progress notes and overall maintenance of members records required by BAMSI and MRC.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Provide transportation utilizing BAMSI vans as well as personal vehicle when needed.
  • Execute duties consistent with agency / program policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • At least two years experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries and / or other disabilities.
  • Previous experience providing Employment and / or transitional supports to individuals preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of residence and own means of transportation (appropriately registered and insured) .
