CIE USA-Century Plastics , a division of the global enterprise CIE Automotive, is seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.
Reports to : Director of Engineering
Primary Purpose :
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development, procurement, implementation and the maintenance of secondary processes and machinery.
Essential Functions :
Establish workflow processes for secondary operations that include assembly and error proofing+B13 : B29
Develop and maintain work cell layouts
Responsible for developing and optimizing process flow to maintain competitiveness in quoting, efficiency, and profitability in production
Create and maintain equipment & tooling spec packages for new business and engineering change quoting
Support purchasing and program management team in the analysis of supplier quotes to ensure costs are justified and meet all requirements
Create assembly equipment concept and operator sequence with understanding of safety, ergonomics and budget
Responsible for assisting with and developing tooling budgets on new model programs
Assist sales & cost estimating team with budgetary tooling cost
Responsible for working within tooling budget and improving margin
Provide support with feasibility and best practices during part design and development phase
Responsible for maintaining timing and open issues of responsible tasks to meet program deliverables
Responsible for runoff and buyoff of machinery at supplier facilities
Work with maintenance team to ensure facilities meet work cell layout and are prepared for machinery and setup (air lines, electrical, position, etc.)
Assist quality team members in the development of work instructions and control plans for work cell and machinery
Support training of operators at initial internal runs with work cell and machinery
Responsible for coordination of spare parts list with maintenance
Responsible for continuous program and work with quality to completely resolve quality defect issues
Trouble shoot and resolve manufacturing & secondary tooling related issues
Support all new tryouts at suppliers on the manufacturing floor
Support manufacturing team as required
Understand & lead safety / ergonomic requirements
Qualifications :
Degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, but field experience will be considered
Minimum 5 years’ of experience and knowledge in plastics manufacturing engineering
Experience with Automation Integration is preferred
Experience with implementing Industrial Engineering techniques is preferred
Good communication and organizational skills.
Proficient at Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Project.
Ability to manage and track multiple programs
Working knowledge of manufacturing operations that are relevant to injection mold plastics and assembly
Working knowledge of post wrapping (carpet, vinyls, and fabrics) preferred
Self-Driven Mindset required
Hands on experience with developing and working on Secondary Equipment
Physical Requirements :
Able to lift 30 lbs. occasionally (part, boxes, etc.)
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to travel within manufacturing environments (internally and externally)
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally with passport (primarily within United States, but also including Mexico and Europe)
