Summary
Barry University's Admissions Services Department is currently seeking a Processing Specialist-Graduate Adult Learner.
The Processing Specialist processes all applications and supporting documents including transcripts, test scores, and any supporting credentials for new and re-enrolling graduate and adult learner student applications to the University. Maintains applicant records from the receipt of the application through the acceptance process until registration or withdrawal.
Essential Functions
Processes and maintains applicant records
Review and ensure all applicant data has been entered and is accurate.
Update applicant record reflecting institutions attended and ensure any required documents are entered and requested.
Update any credential information upon receipt.
Review received transcripts for accreditation. level of education and GPA, calculate GPA if necessary.
Review and update applicant records upon notification of changes received from Engagement Center,
Admissions Counselors or student.
Evaluate credential for clarity, accuracy, type and ensure data is accurate.
Place and remove holds on student records for required submission of documents or deposit.
Evaluate student record and credentials for eligibility for an admission decision and send for review if
appropriate.
Update record for admission status.
Ensure proper correspondence is requested and sent to student throughout admission process.
Reporting and record maintenance
Review daily reports and perfom1 necessary actions relevant to report.
Update student record to reflect admit status and interest inactivate any student record upon notification or within guidelines set in no response from student
Monitor Graduate Processing Mailbox and handle appropriately.
Ensure accuracy of data by reviewing reports.
Report any discrepancies in systems and reports.
Prepare, arrange, and update file for admission decision.
Review applicant records for those ready to review by school.
Upon file completion. prepare all required documents for submission to school for admission decision and distribute accordingly.
Prepare advising file for electronic delivery.
Update systems to reflect status of admissions decision.
Organizational Communication (written and oral)
Responds to internal and external communications from university community and students through email, texts, tasks, cases, and phone contacts
Trouble shoots internal and external customer issues and / or complaints
Requests information from appropriate sources to ensure output is accurate
Additional Duties
Qualifications / Requirements
High school diploma or GED is required
12 months or less of related experience is required
Basic computer / technical skills required
Basic written and verbal communication skills required.
