We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance professional to support our programs, facilities, and vehicles throughout the region.
The Maintenance Staff / Manager performs a wide range of repair and upkeep tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance. The role also supports facility projects, vendor coordination, and emergency response needs. This is a full-time position based in Rhode Island with occasional travel to Connecticut (approximately 4x / month).
Ideal candidates have experience in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and / or general construction, along with strong mechanical and problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift heavy items are required.
Responsibilities :
- Perform a wide variety of general maintenance and repair work, including painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and cleaning.
- Support and coordinate facility maintenance, renovations, and construction projects.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Oversee or assist with vendor and contractor work.
- Estimate labor and material costs for maintenance and repairs.
- Manage fire and security systems and ensure emergency preparedness plans are in place.
- Respond to maintenance emergencies on a rotating, on-call basis.
- Travel between Rhode Island and Connecticut sites as needed (agency vehicle may be provided).

One year or more of experience in general construction, building maintenance, or repair work.Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry.Strong hands-on maintenance skills and mechanical aptitude.Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance required.Ability to lift and move heavy objects.High School Diploma or GED preferred, trade school or technical certification a plus.Familiarity with fire codes and preventative maintenance planning preferred.Must successfully complete criminal background and child welfare checks.Pay Range :
$24–$28 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
