Position Summary :

The Cook works independently and as part of a team to provide meals for their specific house or convent. This includes the planning of meals, food shopping and cooking. We are currently looking for a Part-Time cook, must be available on weekends, pam-2pm.

Qualifications :

1.   High School Diploma or equivalent desirable.

2.   Ability to prepare meals for groups.

3.   Ability to lift 50 lbs.

4.   Well-groomed and appropriately dressed.

5.   Good common sense.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities -

Includes, but is not limited to, the following :

Know and carry out the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph - to unite neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God.

Prepares and cooks up to three (3) meals per day for Sisters.

Checks freshness of food and ingredients.

Plans menus and ensures quality of meals.

Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards.

Inspects supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.

Sanitize food preparation and serving areas.

Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies; may drive to Costco, butchers and grocery store for supplies.

Keep records of expenditures and manage account.

Ensure that the equipment is always in the right condition.

Performs related and miscellaneous duties as requested.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to exhibit strength and endurance to stand and walk for prolong periods of time. Occasionally lifting up (up to 50 lbs), carrying, pushing and pulling. Frequently exhibiting balance and coordination crouching, crawling, stooping, kneeling, manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity. Frequently communicating by talking, hearing and seeing.
