Well, Handex is currently seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to assist our project managers with Contamination Assessment (soil / groundwater sampling and oversight work), Emergency Response, Remediation, and Environmental Support Services activities. Position requires to be at client sites (primarily ports) in the greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area.

What will be my responsibilities and objectives?

• Perform sampling and / or monitoring at our client sites and ports, which can include the following : Groundwater and soil sampling, vapor intrusion air sampling, well installation, soil borings, potable well surveys, aquifer testing, and pilot testing.
• Works with pumps, mechanical equipment and tools.
• As needed, will support 24-hour Emergency Response activities for contracted FDOT State-owned roads.
• Maintain and keep abreast of FDOT / FDEP regulations, SOP’s, guidelines and safety to ensure all Handex activities are in compliance.
• Assist with necessary permitting associated with FDOT MOT and NPDES Discharging.
• Profesionally represents Handex at all times and maintains an open line of communication with clients and internal staff.
