Senior DBA

Responsibilities

• Database Management : Oversee the administration of databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security in both SQL Server and Oracle environments.
• Support Operations : Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24 / 7 support for critical database environments, ensuring swift resolution of issues and minimal downtime.
• Performance Tuning : Conduct performance tuning and automation to enhance database efficiency, utilizing industry best practices and tools.
• Scripting & Automation : Develop and implement scripts in PowerShell and Python to streamline database maintenance tasks, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Collaboration : Work closely with application developers, network engineers, and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in high availability and high transactional systems.
• Data Integrity & Compliance : Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations, implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Scaling Solutions : Design and implement scaling solutions for database clusters to support growth and meet performance demands.
• Installation & Configuration : Oversee the installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading of SQL Server and Cassandra database systems.
• Customer Interaction : Engage with stakeholders in IT Supply Chain to understand requirements, provide insights, and ensure database solutions align with business objectives.
