The Quantitative Developer I role is a junior level role that will work with a growing Quant team that is responsible for the development and maintenance of the suite of quantitative products on the SpiderRock platform. The role will translate mathematical and statistical models into functional code, focusing on areas like trading, risk management, and data analysis. This is a full-time salaried position that will work in our Chicago office and will report to the Head of Quant.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and maintain code libraries for numerical computations, option pricing, volatility surface fitting, and other tools.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot issues, design solutions, and thoroughly test changes.
- Write clear and precise internal and external documentation on existing and new products.
WHAT SPIDERROCK IS LOOKING FOR
4-year college degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Physics, or related discipline or equivalent work experiencePrefer 2+ years of experience in software development (academic or professional)Strong debugging, problem solving, and analytical skillsExperience with statistical modeling techniques, numerical methods, and machine learning models highly preferredAbility to analyse, visualize, and make sense of complex dataUnderstanding of the financial markets, market dynamics, and trading strategies highly preferredAbility to communicate effectively with individuals in both technical and non-technical roles.Highly proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).Prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExceptional prioritizing, time management, and organizational skillsStrong work ethic and attention to detailIndependent initiative-takerProfessional, motivated attitude along with strong interpersonal skillsWork onsite at our Chicago corporate officeOnly candidates that do not require employment sponsorship now or in the future will be consideredWHAT TO EXPECT
