Description of Job
This position will perform routine support services and clinical tasks for the incarcerated offenders in either an outpatient clinic, infirmary, telehealth, or specialized cell house setting for acute care, chronic support and emergency interventions as indicated. This position may be required to work any shift, weekends, and holidays.
The duties include but are not limited to :
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED AND Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program with Certification or Registration or Medication Aide Certificate or License (a copy of your current and valid certificate / license must be attached at the time of application)
Special Requirement : Applicant must obtain a Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) certification within 180 days of hire.

Self-control, a strong sense of ability to work in stressful, potentially violent situations; Ability to remain alert, emotionally stable, and mentally resilient under pressure and observant throughout their shift; Tolerance to stress, confinement, and high-stakes interaction Ability to effectively treat inmate patients on a daily basis in a variety of settings; Ability to follow patient confidentiality standards; Ability to respond to emergency situations involving inmates and / or medical situations; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to read and comprehend the English language; Ability to effectively communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing; Ability to create accessible documents and technical content that follows plain language guidelines with accessibility in mind. Excellent discernment and decision making skills; Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to details; Ability to work a variety of shifts on a full time basis.
Conditions of Employment
Must be 18 years of age; Possess a valid driver's license; Possess a high school diploma or GED; Have NO felony convictions; Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States; Successfully pass all modules of the 6 week Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training; Possess the physical ability to successfully complete Defensive Tactics; Willing and able to travel; Willing and able to work various shifts, days, afternoons, graveyards (nights) which includes a rotating shift schedule; TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire; Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
