Job Summary :
Nicklaus Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Architectural Designer with 5+ years’ experience working in an architectural firm. Experience in military and municipal projects is preferred. Nicklaus is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented architectural designer responsible for accurately preparing construction documents under the supervision of an Architect. Designer must have a Professional Architecture degree (Bachelor or Master of Architecture) with 5+ years of experience in an architectural firm. Position requires proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Duties include conducting code research, coordinating with subconsultants, developing designs, preparing drawings and specifications, cost estimating, construction administration and managing construction projects.
This is a full-time position.
Work Location :
Yuma, AZPhoenix, AZEssential Functions :
- Acts as a lead designer on multiple projects developing conceptual design, presentations and construction documents
- Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions to maintain goals and objectives of projects
- Architectural design and technical detailing to prepare, coordinate, and produce construction documents
- Guide and direct multiple drafters to manage the development of design throughout design development and construction documents
- Communicate with Architect on progress of project documents and arising issues
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, furniture dealers and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives
- Research and specify products and materials relating to the project
- Check projects for code compliance
- Assist in construction administration including submittals, RFIs, and meetings
- Responsible for delivering a project on defined budget requirements and project schedule
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with municipal and military projects preferred
- Knowledge of architectural systems, components and assemblies
- Technical knowledge of Architectural detailing
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Experience in developing and completing construction documents and specifications
- Experience in developing construction cost estimates
- Strong presentation skills and graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
- Ability to be independent and work with little supervision
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with abilities to multitask and complete various assignments at once.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent required.
- 5 years experience.
License and Certification Requirements :
- Valid Driver’s License and Evidence of Insurability.
- Licensure in Architecture is a plus, but not required.
