Opportunity at a Glance
ACAMS is seeking Instructional Designers to develop engaging, high-quality learning materials for certification and courses, working under the guidance of the Sr. Manager Instructional Design. This role involves transforming complex subject matter into learner-centered content tailored to certification candidates, collaborating with Product Managers, SMEs, and Media Production teams to ensure content aligns with learning objectives, audience needs, and business goals. The ideal candidate has experience with online learning design, content authoring tools, and creating impactful, interactive materials.
Responsibilities
Design and develop instructional materials, assessments, and interactive elements for certification and certificate courses, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and industry standards.
Establish strong relationships with SMEs to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and quality, facilitating effective communication and alignment on learning goals.
Collaborate with SMEs to interpret complex subject matter and transform it into clear, engaging learning materials suitable for certification exam preparation and professional development.
Develop content that captures and conveys essential KSAs needed for learners to succeed, ensuring alignment with certification requirements.
Write instructional content that is clear, concise, and optimized for learner comprehension.
Work with knowledge management resources to develop reusable content across courses, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Partner with Product Managers and Media Production teams to understand product goals and integrate multimedia elements.
Ensure all instructional materials meet high standards of accuracy, clarity, and accessibility, adapting content based on the target audience’s learning level.
Skills, Qualifications, And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or related field.
3+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably within professional training, EdTech, or financial services sectors; experience with professional certification is a plus.
Strong writing skills to create clear, concise, and engaging instructional content.
Ability to capture and convey KSAs supporting learner success within certification products.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with SMEs for accurate, high-quality content.
Knowledge of content re-use strategies and collaboration with knowledge management resources.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and learner-focused, committed to high-quality learning experiences.
Fluent in English; additional languages are preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours and occasionally across different time zones.
Willingness to travel if required.
