The Role
The Sales Manager will outline and communicate sales targets, delegate tasks, and ensure that staff performance meets our standards of excellence. The Sales Manager will conduct regular and extensive research to consolidate and grow our spot in the market. Mentor the sales team, set goals and give resources to the team to help them reach their goals and grow their book of business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Maintain a sound working knowledge of all markets and growing conditionsIdentify target area of market and business plans for acquisition of new businessMentor and train a team of sales repsManage team performance and goals by setting an example of excellence, being accessible and creating a culture of teamwork and personal accountabilityMake presentations of profitable programs to potential and existing customersWork with other teams; buyers, operations and sales support persons to communicate customer's needs and preferencesOrganize and provide assistance for special sales and promotionsManage and lead regular team meetingsWalk warehouse-checking product at least once a dayWrite and manage Department budgetsAttend all sales meetingsSpecial projects as assigned by the General ManagerQualifications
At least 3 years of people management experience in a sales environmentExtensive knowledge of Foodservice and produce and groceryKnowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or servicesKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer serviceStrong communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of management internally and externallyAbility to maintain a professional demeanor with your team, the public and other personnel when performing your dutiesAbility to work independently and through others to drive results.Adaptability / Flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involvedCritical Thinking : Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsIntermediate Computer Skills- Microsoft Office : Outlook, Word, ExcelStrong planning and organizational skills with attention to detailSafe driving record and proof of insuranceAbility to work flexible hours and up to 50% travelAdditional Information
