Description
The Director for Marketing assists the Associate AD for Marketing and Promotions with the outreach promotions and branding efforts of the Chattanooga Mocs Athletics Department.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes annual marketing plans for all assigned sports / events and leads efforts on the communication of these plans within the department
- Creates and implements marketing strategies to help increase attendance and revenue for UTC Athletics as well as enhances the fan experience and gameday atmosphere for home contests
- Oversees and leads Mocs game day marketing efforts for assigned sports including but not limited to : operation of music leading in-game promotions serving as main contact for halftime entertainment and National Anthem singers distribution of giveaway items oversight of gameday marketing interns and working with public address announcers and creative services to create a high-energy game day environment for fans and student-athletes
- Assists with set-up and operation of all fan experience areas at Mocs Football and Mens Basketball games to include but not limited to : The Party in the Pavilion Scrappys Kid Zone etc.
- Utilizes email marketing strategies to provide improved customer service and communication
- Assists with marketing efforts to design and implement social media strategies that increase awareness of and engagement with UTC Athletics
- Assists with the oversight of student volunteers / interns for athletics marketing and promotions
- Develops event scripts for assigned home contests and assist with various gameday functions for assigned sports
- Provides oversight of the Scrappys Kids Club and the official kids club of the Chattanooga Mocs
- Assists with fulfillment of sold inventory by Mocs Sports Properties the 3rd Party Multimedia Rights Holder for UTC Athletics
- Assists with marketing efforts for the Southern Conference and the NCAA Championship events hosted by UTC
- Assists with community outreach and assist in working all community events
- Performs other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following :
Ability to work under pressure multitask and meet deadlinesAbility to maintain positive relationships with external and internal constituencies and provide excellent customer serviceMust have strong communications skills both oral and writtenMust have working knowledge of MS software (I.e. Word Excel PowerPoint etc.)Experience with design software preferred (i.e. Photoshop InDesign Illustrator)Experience working with and knowledge of CRM Email Marketing software preferred; (I.e. Salesforce Paciolan and Oracle Eloqua)Experience in the collegiate environmentFamiliarity with Southern Conference and NCAA rules and regulationsReview of applications will begin November 13 2025 and will continue until the position is filled. Qualifications
Minimum : Requires a bachelors degree in a related field 2 years of relevant experience in collegiate athletics or related field specifically in the areas of marketing and promotions or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Preferred : A masters degree and 3 years experience within the Southern Conference and current knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.
