Job Summary
The Automation Controls Specialist is responsible for applications, engineering, and field support for Operations Technology projects and applications concerning automation, controls, and SCADA systems.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Designs and implements automated systems, controls, and electrical distributionActs as a technical liaison for Project Managers and Engineers concerning field of expertiseProvides bill of materials required for assigned projectsAttends project meetings and leads when necessaryWorks with shop / field / project teams to provide most efficient solutions to clientsProvides applications support for lower-level technicians and operations personnelDevelops onsite and offsite SCADA and PLC software applications that best fit the needs of each applicationProvides onsite and offsite support of SCADA and PLC software applications when necessaryMaintains accurate and sufficient documentation of assigned projectsAssists with project proposals, scope of work, contingencies, and any other support required from Project Managers and Engineering staffMay operate as Project Lead for small to medium scoped projectsCommunicates effectively with project team during onsite implementation of software application design and specificationsProvides onsite and offsite training to clients considering provided solutionsProvides onsite and offsite training to field service personnel concerning technologies used during each projectProvides support for Project Managers and Engineers considering field instrumentation hardware specificationsOther duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as neededQualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in STEM field of study or related field AND at least 2 years of experience directly related to automated systems technology, industrial automation, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and field instrumentation systems required ORAssociate's degree in STEM field of study or related field AND at least 3 years of experience directly related to automated systems technology, industrial automation, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and field instrumentation systems required ORHigh school diploma or equivalent AND at least 5 years of experience directly related to automated systems technology, industrial automation, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and field instrumentation systems requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
